Excerpt from: Vanina Saracino – From the Other Side of a Landscape:
“You’re now standing in an enormous, empty glass room. The objects have vanished, leaving only this sound entwined with the inaudible yet thriving vegetal noise outside and below. Every atom, whether part of living or inert matter, is wrapped in an electromagnetic field: everything is inherently electrical. Just as veins connect organs and tissues in the body, and the vascular system in plants carries nutrients through photosynthetic layers, so do cables transmit electrical signals from one machine to another. In this garden of entangled synths and sounds echoing terrestrial songs, there are no boundaries between the natural and the artificial. Ramírez and Puech have erased these walls. In their words: “We are fascinated by nature’s sound but wanted to replicate them using synths, generating them with minimal human input. Inspired by the clinical artificiality of the Pavillon de Verre (Glass Pavilion) and its garden, we found there was something paradoxical about this space—a glass box, an inverted aquarium—like we were playing from the other side of a landscape.”
