This exhibition is a co-production Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains and Pinault Collection, is questionning the way artists explore, approch and work with the essentiel quesiton of crossing, which can be a metaphor for the evolution of our humanity. It shows the represntation system refering to the condition of the world and the way artists helps us understand the troubles at stake on a period where we are questionning the future of humanity.
The title of the exhibition Jusque-là if refeiring to a piece of art made by the artist Enrique Ramírez, welcomed in an artist residency of Pinault Collection staten in Lens and associated to the exhibition’s conception. It proposes a dialogue between 17 pieces of Enrique Ramírez and a choice of 28 pieces of art part of Pinault Collection from 10 artists : Lucas Arruda, Yaël Bartana, Nina Canell, Latifa Echakhch, Vidya Gastaldon, Jean-Luc Moulène, Antoni Muntadas, Paulo Nazareth, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané, Danh Vo.
Do pieces of art have the power to change, by moving them, our point of views on the contemporary world ? This exhibition is a reflexion on the creative action and it’s political meaning. Making a piece of art is leaving a mark on time and on space – historical and geographical, philosophical, ethical ad political, mixed.
